18k Yellow Gold Rose Cut Salt & Pepper Diamond Ring
$1,875.00
This exclusive design presents the diamond from a new perspective. The central salt and pepper rose cut diamond (approximately .31 carat total carat weight) of this 18k yellow gold ring is a departure from the ubiquitous brilliant cut diamond. The rose cut –– named for the facets' resemblance to rose petals –– first became popular in the 18th Century, when rose cut diamonds showed very beautifully against the candlelight used during that time. The rose cut is essentially a domed stone with a flat surface on its bottom. In contrast with the familiar brilliant cut, which has a flat top and facets underneath, flashes of light come from the facets cut into the rose cut's domed surface. This diamond is more milky in appearance than brilliant cut stones, with flecks of gray. This unique setting places the large diamond at the highest point on the ring and recesses the accenting gray diamonds (approximately .4 total carat weight) below the lip of the 18k yellow gold setting, which slightly directs the soft light of these stones to the top of the ring. It's Forge and Foundry's take on the popular halo setting.
